Dr. Stuart M. McGill is a distinguished professor emeritus, at the University of Waterloo, where he was a professor for 30 years.
His laboratory and experimental research clinic investigated issues related to the causal mechanisms of back pain, how to rehabilitate people suffering from back pain and enhance both injury resilience and performance.
His advice is often sought out by governments, corporations, legal experts, medical groups and elite athletes and teams from all over the world.
His work resulted in over 245 published peer-reviewed scientific journal papers, several textbooks, and many international awards including the “Order of Canada” in 2020 for leadership in the back pain area. He mentored over 37 graduate students during this scientific journey.
Over the years, he taught thousands of clinicians and practitioners in professional development and continuing education courses around the world.
He’s still working as Chief Scientific Officer for Backfitpro Inc. Difficult back cases and elite performers regularly visit him for consultation. Any product associated with this website has been tested in Dr. McGill’s laboratory.
Jaime Fernandez-Fernandez is a lecturer at the Universidad de Leon, in Spain.
He has a degree in Physical Education (INEF of A Coruña, 2000) and a PhD in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (University of Oviedo, 2007).
As a physical trainer and retrainer, he has had the opportunity to work with athletes from different categories (from junior to elite) since 2001, highlighting several Top 100 ATP/WTA tennis players and handball players from the German Bundesliga.
In the past two years, he has directed the physical preparation work of the number one in the junior tennis world (Casper Ruud, Norway, Ranking 127 ATP).
Simultaneously, he works as a Sports Science Advisor for tennis federations in different countries (Germany, Norway and Spain) and has been collaborating with the Teaching and Research Area of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) since 2006.
His journey as a teacher and researcher started in 2006 and has been both national and international (4 years at Ruhr-Bochum University, Germany).
He is the author of more than 50 papers, published in national and international journals on the topic of specific training, load management, injury prevention and maturation and performance in racket sports.
